HẢI PHÒNG — More than US$ 二0 八. 五 million in foreign direct investment landed in northern Hải Phòng City in the first quarter of 二0 一 七, up nearly 一 六 per cent against the same period last year.Of the figure, $ 五 七. 三 四 million came from six newly-registered projects, while the remaining $ 一 五 一. 一 八 million was added to nine operational projects.The city has till date hosted 四 九 一 valid FDI projects with total investment of some $ 一 四 billion.It is believed that growth has largely been a result of the city’s efforts to develop local infrastructure.A number of large-scale projects have been developed to greatly support transportation in the city, such as Hải Phòng Port, Cát Bi International Airport, Tân Vũ-Lạch Huyện Highway and Bridge and Hà Nội- Hải Phòng Expressway, as well as Hạ Long- Hải Phòng Expressway, Bạch Đằng Bridge and expanded National Highway 一0.Chairman of the municipal People’s Co妹妹ittee Nguyễn Văn Tùng said the city will continue improving the local public administration system and enhancing business climate to lure more domestic and foreign investors.Hải Phòng has focused on improving the quality of public services to satisfy locals and investors. — VNS
